Education
2024, BS., Biotechnology, University of Puerto Rico at Ponce
I was born and raised in Ponce, PR where I also completed my undergraduate degree. I was later accepted into the Neuroscience postbaccalaureate program at Washington University, where I investigated the role of the nociceptin opioid peptide in pain and motivation under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Castro. After completing my program, I joined the Oviedo lab, where I hope to continue developing my skills in stereotaxic surgery.
I aim to pursue the MD/PhD pathway and conduct research that investigates how specific neuronal circuits mediate the transition from adaptive to maladaptive affective states and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Outside of the lab, I like swimming, exploring new restaurants with my friends, and going thrifting!
